Our farm is in Sindhupalchowk, Nepal, surrounded by quiet jungle and clean mountain air. We grow vegetables, rice, and fruits like bananas, oranges, lemons, guava, and pomegranates. We also keep cattle, buffalo, and goats. Sindhupalchowk is known for its natural beauty—green hills, terraced fields, rhododendron forests, clear rivers like the Bhote Koshi and Sunkoshi, waterfalls, and views of the Himalayan peaks. Nearby places to explore include trekking routes, Dhap Dam, tea gardens, Chisapani, local temples, and peaceful villages. You can enjoy river valleys, sunrise and sunset over the hills, and, in some areas, hot springs like Tatopani. We welcome volunteers who follow WWOOF values. Come join us for hands-on farm work, sustainable living, and a warm cultural exchange with our community.

Madhu was an excellent host and I had a great time staying at his farm. He has two wonderful kids who showed me around during their school holiday and his wife was mainly out in the rice fields during this time but still incredibly hospitable. The food was delicious as it was fresh from their garden and because it was the summer season, we ate a ton of cucumbers everyday! The location is only an 1:45 from Kathmandu so it is not too remote and convenient if you are only in Nepal for a short time.

I spent 5 days with Madhu and his family. What an experience! I met several members from their family, neighbors, and Madhu brought me to an important celebration that was occurring in his family several hours far away from his village, it was an adventure to reach there! On the way back we also visited an important and touristic temple. I could well communicate in English with Madhu and his two children, her wife does not speak English and I had very little interactions with her. In the farm, I helped with taking care of green chili crops (removing invading grass), planting beans, gathering and carrying grass and dried corn plants, feeding goats and buffalos, and transferring buffalo manure (with bare hands!) in carrying baskets. Overall this was a good experience and I would recommend this place, but I would have liked to learn more and do more diverse farming activities, but given the short time I was there and the different family events and the organization around it, it was not possible. Also, volunteers are sleeping in the living room so in terms of intimacy it can be complicated if you need time on your own during the day or evenings, as you share the room with them the whole day and until ~10pm.
